Ballistic Shield Operator 28 AUG 2019
An end user level course for fundamental operations of the ballistic shield as a solo, two and three officer element. Training consists of a half day of flat range drills and follows into the afternoon session the shoot house to work on tactics.
The methods presented apply to tactical teams and patrol level use.
An operator end-user level course for fundamental tasks for operating the ballistic shield in CQB setting. Solo and small team tactics are incorporated into flat range drills that are transferred to live-fire shoot house exercises. Range session includes weapon failure drills when using a shield along with single and two officer shooting drills. The afternoon focuses on tactics for clearing center and corner fed rooms. Simple modifications to make the shield more effective are discussed.
