Spring 2010
With the warmer weather upon us, it time to start training in earnest.
We have made several upgrades to the range; most evident is the new
lane back to the shoot house with improved drainage. The road is now
a railroad tie base covered in mulch. The road is widened also. As
time permits, class 2 steel doors will replace the wood doors in the
shoot house.
I attended the
state training board meeting in early March on behalf of Tactical
Energetic Entry Systems. The board approved the Mechanical,
Ballistic & Thermal Breaching Course and the Explosive Handler & Breaching
Course for state certification. This is the first time an explosive
breaching course has been certified in Illinois and the first time
TEES has this course approved by a state agency. This is the third
TEES course to be state certified. What does this mean to you? The
benefit of having an ILETSB certificate upon graduation and the possibility
of tuition reimbursement [contact your local MTU for details].
Speaking of TEES, our web guru, Justin Harris, will be taking care
of their website as well as the AdamaxTactical.com website. Justin
was able to edit a video for us on this website and on our facebook
account. We plan to use facebook to interact with our friends and clients
by posting updated info, class photos, etc. There are several albums
of old photos on the Adamax page.
Those of you who
attended the ILEAS conference may recall that officer down/medical
training was a hot topic. Adamax Tactical
Academy has
been offering our version- High Risk Officer Survival & Rescue
Course- for several years. It's an affordably priced course focused
on practical skills for patrol level officers. Out of all the
training you may attend, this one has the direct probability
of saving a
life.
We recognize that training is often one of the first items cut when
agency budgets get tight. We will do our part in holding the line on
tuition and offer several courses at rates that an officer can afford
to pay out of pocket. Look for two new CQB team concept courses in
the shoot house later this summer.
Until we link
up again, Stay Safe, God Bless & Watch Your
Six!
